Terms and Conditions

By booking, paying a deposit, or allowing work to begin, you (the Customer) agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”), which apply to all our services and are available on our website.

Alpine Air Wellington is a local mobile automotive air-conditioning service operating throughout Greater Wellington.

2. Customer Protections

  • We comply with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986.

  • We respect your privacy, property, and communication preferences.

 

3. Booking & Site Requirements

  • You’ll get a booking confirmation with an arrival window; we’ll notify you promptly if we’re delayed.

  • Please ensure someone 18+ is present to authorise work and payment. Ensure safe parking, adequate space around the vehicle, and secure pets.

 

4. Pricing & Estimates

  • Call‑out & diagnostic fee: From $100 + GST ($115 incl. GST).

  • Labour rates: $120 + GST per hour for standard cars; $140 + GST per hour for heavy machinery and trucks.

  • Quotes are valid for 14 days. Unexpected issues (rusted bolts, prior repairs, damaged components) may cause delays or extra costs but we’ll always seek your approval first.

  • Special order parts may require deposit or full prepayment and. Cancellations may incur restocking parts fee or freight charges.

5. Payment Terms Standard Customers

  • Payment is due in full immediately upon job completion or diagnosis, and must be made before the technician leaves the site.

Payment Options

  • Mobile EFTPOS: Available at every visit. A bank surcharge may apply on credit cards.

  • Cash: Accepted on site; please provide exact change where possible.

  • Bank Transfer: Must be arranged with the technician.

Account Holders
(trade customers only who has been trading with us and have ongoing accounts)

  • Payment is due by the 20th of the month following the invoice issue date.

Parts Ownership

  • All parts remain our property until fully paid.

Late Payment Policy (applies to trade and retail customers)

The followings apply to overdue accounts:

  1. 5% interest per month on the unpaid balance.

  2. $25 monthly administration fee.

  3. Any collection costs incurred (e.g., reminder letters, agency fees, disputes tribunal fees) will be added to the outstanding amount.

6. Health & Safety

Working with refrigerants and high-pressure systems carries risks. For your safety, we may ask you to maintain a safe distance during work. Refrigerants can cause frostbite, oxygen displacement, or respiratory hazards. Our technicians are highly trained and follow safe handling protocols.

 

7. Service Integrity

  • We begin with full diagnostics, pressure testing, leak detection, electrical checks before adding refrigerant.

  • UV dye and oils are used responsibly to aid diagnostics and prolong component life.

8. Warranties & Guarantees

  • Workmanship: 12-month guarantee from job completion.

  • Parts: Manufacturer warranties apply

  • New OEM and aftermarket parts include manufacturer warranties. Second hand parts are sold include a limited warranty depending on the supplier. 

  • Exclusions: Damage from crash, service neglect, vandalism, or previous improper work.

  • Your statutory rights under NZ law remain fully protected.

9. Environmental Responsibility

  • We adhere to all New Zealand regulations on refrigerant recovery and handling.

  • It is an offence under the Resource Management Act and the Ozone Layer Protection Regulations to knowingly release refrigerant to the atmosphere. All refrigerant is recovered using approved equipment and methods in line with NZ environmental standards.

 

10. Liability & Limitations

  • We perform with care but cannot be held liable for pre-existing or hidden faults.

  • Liability is limited to the cost of our goods or services, to the extent permitted by law.

  • Consumer Guarantee rights cannot be waived.

 

11. Privacy & Communication

  • We may take before/after photos for service records.

  • All your information is stored securely and never shared. 

12. Unexpected Issues & Delays

If the vehicle’s condition (e.g., corrosion, damage, complexity) causes delays, we’ll discuss them with you and require approval before continuing.

13. General Terms

  • If any term is found invalid, the rest remain in effect.

  • These Terms are governed by New Zealand law.

  • Posted on our website, these terms apply to all customers and services.

Acceptance

By confirming your booking, paying a deposit, or allowing us to start work, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and any job-specific notes on your quote or job card.
